post-intro flight

Okay, so I took my intro flight and...(drumroll please)....I am stoked! I think I might actually be able to do this flying thing! I went up in a Diamond DA-20 Eclipse (Katana). It is a relatively small 2-seater (at least by my experience to date). I "[had] the controls" more than I thought I would for an intro flight, but it actually boosted my confidence instead of scaring the goat's milk out of me.

I am looking forward (i think) to starting flight training in earnest next week, weather permitting. I had to order a copy of my birth certificate and I would like to get my medical certificate done as soon as possible. I don't anticipate any issues, I am as healthy as an ox, but may as well get it out of the way, right?

Ooh and the other cool thing was the view. I now know where Goshen, Utah is. I saw Santaquin, which is not a huge accomplishment (of course), but I have never seen Santaquin before. Looking forward to jaunts to Nephi and points across the Wasatch Mountains in the distant future!

Signing off,
Monica

*Did you know Roger doesn't actually mean "yes," it is just an acknowledgement that the information has been received. Who knew?

Intro Ride

So I am scheduled to go on my intro ride in 30 minutes. I am nervous, but excited. I am worried that I am not smart or mechanical enough to learn to fly, but I still really want to do it. I guess these first couple lessons will show me if I have what it takes to fly. Onward and upward!
